A Day in The Life – Daniel Oginni, Strategic Business Analyst

1. Describe your journey to Varicent; What work did you pick and why?

I was attracted to Varicent because of its renowned leadership in innovation within the sales performance management sector. I opted for the role of Strategic Business Analyst on the Enterprise PMO team because it combines my interests in technology and Customer Success. At Varicent, I have the chance to work on analyzing and optimizing business processes across the organization, including data models, and to develop strategic and technical solutions that drive to improve system-wide efficiencies.

2. Describe a typical day in your role?

As a Strategic Business Analyst at Varicent, my day revolves around analyzing metrics from our Customer Success tool to identify trends and devise targeted strategies, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective deployment and integration of our solutions. Leveraging data-driven insights, I offer strategic recommendations to align with team objectives and foster strong partnerships between Customer Success Operations and Managers.

3. Tell us about a challenge that you’re working to solve right now?

I'm currently addressing the challenge of streamlining the metrics in our CS tool to simplify and enhance its efficiency, aiming to provide clearer, more actionable data for the Customer Success department. This involves integrating or removing certain metrics and preparing for a potential new tool implementation, ensuring a smooth transition, and establishing robust data governance to start FY25 with a strong setup.

4. What is one thing that you have worked on that you’re really proud of?

I'm particularly proud of the Systems Change Management Project I led starting in FY23, which involved multiple revisions to refine the process. By FY24, this initiative resulted in a redesigned end-to-end process flow, consolidated JIRA board, and updated ticket fields, leading to significant improvements. We continued refining and adapting, establishing baseline metrics and KPIs, and transitioned to a maintenance phase using JIRA Dashboards and reports to track progress and measure success.

5. In your words, what makes working at Varicent unique?

Varicent distinguishes itself through its dedication to innovation and customer success. The company's culture promotes collaboration and creativity, enabling employees to drive impactful change and make significant contributions for clients. By prioritizing value delivery and surpassing customer expectations, Varicent cultivates a dynamic and rewarding work environment where every team member can flourish and contribute to collective achievements.

6. Which of our values do you relate to the most and why?

I resonate most with the values of being Bold and Curious. Boldness fuels both personal and business growth, enabling me to stay ahead of the curve by embracing creativity and forward-thinking. This value is evident in my recent application of AI tools at Varicent, helping us stay current with the latest possibilities while ensuring efficiency. Curiosity, on the other hand, is a transformative value that I rely on to achieve my goals. It inspires me to explore new ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams, aligning our shared commitments and enhancing our collective efforts to drive impactful outcomes.
